Solo Capture Build
I've been away a long time, but have picked up all of the expansions.
I'm looking for a solid class/build that will allow me to capture skills and unlock items for pvp, in an efficient manner.
My monk gets a bit boring, so I was hoping to find another class that might give me a little more spunk. I was considering Ranger/Necro, because pets sound like it might be a good change of pace. I also enjoy my Ele, as it is fun to go all offense.
Basically, I want to get competitive in pvp again, and be able to unlock as many needed skills as possible, while not watching health bars, but rather view the visuals around me.
The class I use to capture skills/items isn't necessarily going to be my pvp "main".
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe he is asking for the profession that would get him through normal mode PvE as easily and fast as possible, where he can capture skills and buy skills.
Honestly, any profession would work...just get Discordway heros as soon as you can...or the new Spiritual Discord if you are doing it with a friend. You would have to slowly build these builds up, though. Below are links.
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Discordway (you and 3 heros)
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team...Man_Discordway (you, a friend and 6 heros)
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team...ritual_Discord (you, a friend and 6 heros)
Honestly though, normal mode is so simple. Almost anything would work now. You can skate through anything as a fire nuker Elementalist with an MM Necro hero, a Monk hero (or Necro healer), and a fire nuker Ele hero.
Another easy idea would be a Splinter Barrager R/Rt. Pets like you stated you wanted to try are not good, but then again, anything works for normal mode PvE. I cannot see a good reason to go R/N for PvE though.

Yup i went through with an Ele capturing, with just random heroes, my build didn't necessarily revolve around fire though. I like Thunderclap + Technobabble, to keep casters down.

Sabway is universal. I also don't suggest asking for builds. The builds will always vary depending on what bosses/foes/areas you face.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
For your elemental, which secondary did you use?

Pick a class that will be used the most for PvP. So if you want to play PvP as a Warrior most of the time, don't use an Elementalist to work on unlocking skills. This will make it harder to get the skills for the class you will be using most.
For secondary, again, consider what you will use in PvP since that is what you want to do. If you make an Ele to acquire Ele skills for a PvP Ele, then consider what the next class you would use in PvP would be. If you would use a Mesmer, then an E/Me can work well and help you get skills unlocked for a PvP Mesmer. However, if you don't think you'll ever want to play a Mesmer in PvP, maybe something like a E/N, E/Rt, or E/Mo could work better for you.
